Feature development
Being an enterprise company, with a small number of large clients, we had very direct access to the immediate requirements and wishes of our users. Our roadmap was anchored to the requirement to meet these, while ensuring we allowed for expansion into other types of customer, and ways of working.
As well as the talent management side of the platform, we started developing Digital Asset Management, to allow talent to share work through the platform.
User Research
We carried out interviews and workshops to ensure that the entities and their relationships used by the systems architecture in this new area were presented in a way that matched the mental models already understood by existing and future users – listening for the terms and concepts they used to describe their existing processes, and how to use them accordingly in our interface to create intuitive experiences and flows.
Design System
As the second designer on board, after the founder, a major task was in turning the design vernacular used across the application into a consistent system which could be extended, maintained, and evolve, with tokens and components which could be shared and easily used by all future design hires.
